If you’ve got a holiday booked to a sunny destination or like to have a dip in your local pool all is still possible with hair extensions.
Can I swim with hair extensions is one of the most asked questions in the salon and the answer is, yes! There are just a few golden rules to follow to ensure your hair extensions look their best after you’ve cooled off.
Hair extensions will look natural even when wet and no one will be able to tell that you are wearing them! They will be your best kept secret.
What about styling after a swim?
Once you have washed the chlorine out of your hair make sure the halo section of your hair at the top where there are no extensions is blow dried well until completely smooth so that it sits into the hair extensions. We understand that adding more time to drying your hair can fill you with dread, but we have good news! Hair extensions do take longer to blow dry but once they are dried you can heat style them and they will hold that style for 3 days easily! This is perfect when you’re on holiday as you can style your hair and not have to worry about any further time needed, more time for relaxing by the pool!
You will probably find that you need to wash your hair fewer times each week and overall spend less time on your hair! Even with a soft curl your hair will look amazing and stay that way for much longer.
How should I style my hair if I going swimming or in the pool?
We would recommend a low plait or ponytail. With extensions you must not tie your hair into a high ponytail, top knot, or high bun as this can pull on the connections, only low styles allowed!
