Hair Extensions Vixen and Blush

Want to get hair extensions but have been getting mixed messages about the pros and cons?

We are here to help! At Vixen and Blush we are the home of natural looking hair extensions and are on hand to give you all the information you need to make an educated decision..

If you’ve not had hair extensions before it can be difficult to work out which method would be best for you. At Vixen and Blush we offer 4 different methods in our salon in LondonBonds, Micro Rings, Tape and Clip In.

Whether you are after a quick fix for an event or want a long lasting method, our highly trained stylists are on hand to ensure your hair dreams become a reality.

The most popular method at Vixen & Blush is the Micro Rings, they are a permanent method that lasts 3 months and then can be refitted. They are safe, reusable and super discreet. This method has a starting cost of £445.00 with each refit costing just half the price. You can refit your hair multiple times, we have clients who wear hair over and over for many years, but any colour or style change you want does mean new hair.

Tape extensions are also very popular at Vixen & Blush as they are a semi-permanent method. It’s a long-term affordable method giving you your hair goals without breaking the bank. They are super comfortable, wearable and you can refit the same hair many times. We have clients who wear their hair for 2 years and only need to change for a colour update. Tape has a starting cost of £185 for 6 pairs with the refit charged at half the cost. You can easily control the amount of hair going in so it helps to control your budget.

We also offer Klarna pay in 3 instalments to help you spread the cost of your extension over 3 months, interest free. This can be applied to all of the methods and be used in the salon or when shopping online.

We’ve put together a handy list of pros and cons for you to help answer any questions and ensure you find the best method for you!

Pro: Extensions add volume and fullness to your hair! If you have naturally fine or greasy hair you will know how impossible it is to add lasting volume to your hair. Even with the most vigorous backcombing! Say goodbye to limp and lifeless hair with extensions, they help to thicken out fine hair and give you a fullness that lasts.

Con: Extensions can be high maintenance. At Vixen and Blush we use the best quality hair from our in-house lab – The London Hair Lab. By choosing high quality, natural hair it may cost a little more at the beginning but it can be refitted many times making it cost effective long term. It’s very important to take care of your hair extensions, we give you all the maintenance and after care advice you need to ensure you keep your hair salon fresh and healthy! You can still style your hair as you did before and create even more voluminous intricate looks that last.

Pro: Extensions are long lasting! Depending which method you opt for they can last 3-4 months. When the time comes to get your hair refitted it costs half the amount. With the correct care you can reuse your hair extensions many times.

Con: Extensions are noticeable. We’ve all seen hair extension disaster photos but this can be easily avoided by going to a specialist trained salon. At Vixen and Blush all of our stylists are trained specifically in hair extensions and that’s what they do all day every-day creating amazing transformations for our clients!

Pro: Extensions come in different shades. We match all the different tones in your hair and ensure a seamless natural colour match. By having lowlights and highlights it adds dimension to your hair and creates a gorgeous effortless look. Having hair extensions will be your best kept secret.

Con: Extensions damage my hair. This is a question we get asked a lot, if extensions damage your natural hair. If you pull at your hair extensions or leave them in too long then you could cause damage to your hair. However at Vixen and Blush we make sure you leave the salon with every question you have answered. You will have the correct maintenance advice and knowledge to help you care for your extensions at home. By using the correct shampoos and styling advice your natural hair will grow and be better than before. A lot of our clients use hair extensions to help them grow their natural hair. When you have extensions in you will be using a lot less heat styling as once you have styled your hair the extensions hold that style for days, giving your natural hair a break.

If you’re ready to join the world of hair extensions then get in touch! We offer free consultations in our salons and via face-time so we can talk you through all the options and ensure a great colour match.

Sarah Mckenna

Sarah McKenna is the founder of Vixen & Blush and The London Hair Lab. Sarah graduated as a research biochemist in 2005 and started a career within the pharmaceutical industry, before becoming a hair extensions expert. In 2010, Sarah gained insight into the hair extensions industry and could see that clients had a very poor value/quality proposition. At that time, poor-quality hair extensions were available, at prohibitively high prices. Sarah left her initial career and set out on a mission to improve the hair extensions industry in the UK, using her research and development skills.

Spending 3 years securing a high-quality and sustainable supply of human hair, Sarah then developed new products and fitting techniques to allow long-term refits of the same hair. In this way, Sarah was able to offer hair extensions services at a more affordable price to clients, while improving the quality of the service for her clients.

With Vixen & Blush starting in 2012 as a 1 chair salon in London, Sarah quickly grew the business to what it is today, a team of more than 20 hair professionals working together as London’s leading hair extensions specialists.
