Brunette hair extensions

Tape extensions are an increasingly popular hair extension method at Vixen and Blush and for good reason!

Our tape extensions are comfortable to wear and very quick and easy to fit and remove in our central London salon.

What happens at a tape extension fitting?

Tape extensions are fitted in pairs, with some of your own hair sitting comfortably in the middle. The hair is carefully sectioned, and the tapes applied. We can create a perfect colour match from our range of multi tonal hair from The London Hair Lab.

If you have added tapes for length the same hair can be re-used many times, with some clients re-fitting the same hair they’ve had after 2 years.

After the extensions have grown down a little, which is normally around 6-8 weeks from the initial application, you can have your tapes refitted. This normally involves your stylist using a professional tape removal solution and re placement re-tapes to refresh and renew your extensions without causing any damage.

Will tape extensions damage my hair?

With good care and proper application tape extensions should not damage your hair at all. Make sure you have your tape extensions applied by a salon professional and follow the after care and maintenance guide.

Can I treat tape extensions like my own hair?

One of the many benefits of tape extensions is that you can treat and style them just like your own hair. We suggest waiting at least 48 hours before washing your extensions to ensure your new look has time to seal.

There are a few aftercare guides to follow such as using salon quality shampoo and conditioner and not over directing your extensions by wearing them in styles such as ponytails. How to care for your tape extensions will be explained to you at your fitting and any questions our team are happy to answer.

Can I brush my tape extensions?

To get the most out of your new hair, treat yourself to a tangle teezer brush. A gentle way of combing through your hair will help maintain your extensions and prevent any damage.

Make sure to fully dry the root area where your tape extensions are and don’t let them air dry as this can cause them to slip. When brushing your extensions start at the mid-lengths and ends of your hair getting out any tangles and then work your way up to the root.

How many packs do I need?

The amount of hair needed does really depend on your desired result, we would suggest booking in for a free consultation where one of our stylists can give you advice on this.

Our tape extension appointments range from just 6 pairs for a volume boost to 22 pairs for all out volume and length. You can see the full price list for tape extensions over on our website.

Sarah Mckenna
Founder

Sarah McKenna is the founder of Vixen & Blush and The London Hair Lab. Sarah graduated as a research biochemist in 2005 and started a career within the pharmaceutical industry, before becoming a hair extensions expert. In 2010, Sarah gained insight into the hair extensions industry and could see that clients had a very poor value/quality proposition. At that time, poor-quality hair extensions were available, at prohibitively high prices. Sarah left her initial career and set out on a mission to improve the hair extensions industry in the UK, using her research and development skills.

Spending 3 years securing a high-quality and sustainable supply of human hair, Sarah then developed new products and fitting techniques to allow long-term refits of the same hair. In this way, Sarah was able to offer hair extensions services at a more affordable price to clients, while improving the quality of the service for her clients.

With Vixen & Blush starting in 2012 as a 1 chair salon in London, Sarah quickly grew the business to what it is today, a team of more than 20 hair professionals working together as London’s leading hair extensions specialists.
