There are several different methods of hair extensions available, at Vixen and Blush we offer 4 different methods Micro Ring, Micro Bond, Tape and Clip In extensions.

  1. Micro Ring Extensions

This method involves fitting each strand of hair with a tiny metal Micro ring. A precise section of your hair is threaded through the ring, and a strand of extension hair is added alongside your hair. The Micro Ring is then clamped closed and is in place for 12 weeks.

The Micro Ring method is very popular in the salon as its comfortable to wear and very easy and simple to remove after 3 months. The hair can be refitted using a new ring for another 3-month wear-time. Re fits can then be repeated many times using the same hair making this a cost-effective method.

  1. Micro Bond Extensions

Micro Bond extensions involve attaching small strands of hair to the natural hair using keratin. The Micro Bonds we have at Vixen & Blush are made of keratin resin, this is the same protein found in hair and nails and each bond is formed by hand. Our stylists can easily adjust the size of each bond to match your hair density carefully.

This is a very small and discreet method. Volume is built up slowly and the results are natural allowing your hair to move freely and blend easily into your natural hair. It’s a great option if you a have finer hair type and want a permanent method that lasts for 3 months.

  1. Tape Extensions

Tape in extensions are a semi-permanent method that lasts between 6-8 weeks before needing to be re-applied. Tape extensions are a fantastic way of adding a small amount of hair for a volume boost but can also be used to add length by adding additional pairs. If you’re adding length, tape hair can be re-used many times! We remove tape extensions and can refit it again with new tape.

  1. Clip In Hair Extensions

Clip In extensions are a temporary method than can be clipped onto your natural hair to add volume and length. They are easy to attach and remove and the perfect solution for an instant boost to your natural hair! We offer Clip In extension appointments in the salon where one of our stylists will colour match, fit, cut & blend them.

The best way to find out more about hair extensions and the methods we offer is to book a free consultation. We offer free consultations in the salon and via Face-Time! Come in and have a chat with one of our expert stylists to see which method is best suited to you. We can also fit a free test strand so you can test out wearing hair extensions before committing to your appointment.

Sarah Mckenna
Founder

Sarah McKenna is the founder of Vixen & Blush and The London Hair Lab. Sarah graduated as a research biochemist in 2005 and started a career within the pharmaceutical industry, before becoming a hair extensions expert. In 2010, Sarah gained insight into the hair extensions industry and could see that clients had a very poor value/quality proposition. At that time, poor-quality hair extensions were available, at prohibitively high prices. Sarah left her initial career and set out on a mission to improve the hair extensions industry in the UK, using her research and development skills.

Spending 3 years securing a high-quality and sustainable supply of human hair, Sarah then developed new products and fitting techniques to allow long-term refits of the same hair. In this way, Sarah was able to offer hair extensions services at a more affordable price to clients, while improving the quality of the service for her clients.

With Vixen & Blush starting in 2012 as a 1 chair salon in London, Sarah quickly grew the business to what it is today, a team of more than 20 hair professionals working together as London’s leading hair extensions specialists.
