How Long Do Hair Extensions Last For?!

Hair extension wear time depends on the method. Micro Rings and Micro Bonds both last 3 months. Tape extensions are refitted every 6 to 8 weeks. Clip Ins and Weft can last many years with proper care. Vixen and Blush offer salon fitting for Micro Rings, Micro Bonds, Tape and Clip Ins, with Tape, Clip Ins and Weft also available to buy online.

Whether you are after a long-term solution or a quick fix for a special date in your diary, at Vixen & Blush hair extensions we offer both permanent and semi-permanent methods. In the salon we offer Micro Rings, Micro Bonds, Tape Ins and Clip Ins. You can also shop our extensions online and get them delivered straight to your door, online we have Tape, Clip Ins and Weft available.
Now to choose the extensions method that’s best for you, below we breakdown the wear-time for each:
Micro Rings
Micro Ring extensions are the most popular method in the salon at Vixen & Blush. Micro Rings are a permanent method, they are re-usable and last 3 months. After 3 months you come back into the salon and the re-fit is charged at half the original cost but includes removal, wash, blow-dry, trim & refit of the same hair. We then cut and blend the hair extensions and style & finish.
Ideal For
Anyone wanting a reusable long-term method. The refit at 3 months is charged at half the original fitting cost and includes removal, wash, blow-dry, trim and refit of the same hair.

Micro Bonds
Micro Bond extensions are a permanent method that will last for 3 months. The difference between Micro Rings & Micro Bonds is that the Micro Bond method does not allow the hair to be reused, so new hair is needed each time. It’s a very versatile method and is perfect for adding tiny bonds into discreet places like the fringe.
Ideal For
Anyone wanting a versatile permanent method, especially for adding hair in discreet areas like the fringe. Note that new hair is required at each appointment as the bonds cannot be reused.

Tape
Tape extensions are a semi-permanent method, that can be re-used and re-fitted every 6-8 weeks. This is another very popular method as it’s ideal for anyone wanting to try out extensions for the first time. Tape extensions are perfect for anyone wanting to add instant volume and length in a shorter timeframe.
Ideal For
First-time extension wearers or anyone wanting instant volume and length. Reusable and refitted every 6 to 8 weeks. Available in salon and online.

Clip Ins
Clip In extensions are a temporary method, offered with the same quality of hair we use for our permanent methods. Our clip ins will last you many years! They are great for low commitment and are suitable for any hair type. We always recommend having clip-ins cut and styled to help blend into the natural shape of your own hair.

Sarah Mckenna
Sarah McKenna is the founder of Vixen & Blush and The London Hair Lab. Sarah graduated as a research biochemist in 2005 and started a career within the pharmaceutical industry, before becoming a hair extensions expert. In 2010, Sarah gained insight into the hair extensions industry and could see that clients had a very poor value/quality proposition. At that time, poor-quality hair extensions were available, at prohibitively high prices. Sarah left her initial career and set out on a mission to improve the hair extensions industry in the UK, using her research and development skills.
Spending 3 years securing a high-quality and sustainable supply of human hair, Sarah then developed new products and fitting techniques to allow long-term refits of the same hair. In this way, Sarah was able to offer hair extensions services at a more affordable price to clients, while improving the quality of the service for her clients.
With Vixen & Blush starting in 2012 as a 1 chair salon in London, Sarah quickly grew the business to what it is today, a team of more than 20 hair professionals working together as London’s leading hair extensions specialists.
