Perfect colour matching is very important because it builds the canvas for the extensions. Even with perfect application and placement, if the colour match isn’t perfect, it won’t look natural. We match three sections: top, sides, and underneath, since sometimes the underside hair can be a different colour. We focus on mid-lengths and ends, pulling out various colours and blending them with the client’s hair to find the best match.

For me, it’s all about good prep. When I blow-dry, I always start with a GHD heat protector, it works for all hair types and honestly smells amazing. If I want a bit of lift at the roots, I’ll use Colour Wow Root Lift, choosing how much depending on how fine the hair is, to add some density and grip.

Through the mid-lengths and ends, I like to use the Amika heat protection serum for that extra layer of protection, it’s especially great for helping extensions last longer, particularly if they’re reusable.
