We are unveiling the magic of Micro Ring Hair Extensions our popular semi-permanent method!

Micro Ring hair extensions are a very popular method in our central London salon! Micro Rings are a semi-permanent method which lasts for 3 months and then can be re-fitted. This gorgeous glossy transformation was created by Lily from Team Vixen using a full head of 22″ Micro Ring extensions.

What are the pros and cons of Micro Ring hair extensions?

  • It’s reusable and you can have many refits of the same hair
  • No heat or glue is used in the application
  • The removal of Micro Rings is quick and easy
  • It’s long lasting with a wear time of 3 months

  • It’s only suitable for hair that is dense at the root
  • If you have metal allergy you can’t have them fitted as they are applied with a small metal ring.

To find out if your hair is suitable the best thing to do is book a free consultation. One of our specialist styles will be able to have a good look at your hair and recommend the best hair extension method for you.

Will I be suitable for Micro Ring hair extensions?

Micro ring hair extensions are suitable for most hair types. If you have normal/thick hair density at root this method is perfect for you. If you have a finer hair type the Micro Ring method might not be suitable and we can offer a test piece of other methods available for you in the salon.

Are Micro Ring hair extensions comfortable?

When you first have Micro Ring’s fitted it might take you a day or two to get used to the feeling. The first time you sleep with permanent har extensions it can feel uncomfortable but the feeling goes away within a few days.

The best and most effective way of finding out if Micro Rings will be comfortable for you is to have a test piece fitted at your consultation. You can then wear them for a week, sleep, wash and treat them as you would your own hair to find out what it would be like.

Do I need to take breaks with Micro Ring extensions?

Once you’ve found the method you love and have extensions fitted we often get asked if you need to take breaks from wearing them, and the answer is no!

It might be surprise to know that when you have hair extensions which are properly applied it can actually help your own hair grow and become healthier.

This is because when wearing hair extensions, you put the styling and heat pressure onto the hair extensions themselves which are generally longer than your own hair and over time this allows your own hair (in particular the end) to stop suffering from all the heat and over styling. Keeping the ends of your hair healthier and not breaking as much. After wearing hair extensions for a year or so many of our clients are amazed at how healthy their own hair looks and how much it’s grown.

You don’t need to take breaks from wearing hair extensions but if you feel like having them removed and not wearing them for a while, you can keep your hair aside and have it refitted at a later date.

If you want to try Micro Ring extensions book in for your free consultation today!

Sarah Mckenna

Sarah McKenna is the founder of Vixen & Blush and The London Hair Lab. Sarah graduated as a research biochemist in 2005 and started a career within the pharmaceutical industry, before becoming a hair extensions expert. In 2010, Sarah gained insight into the hair extensions industry and could see that clients had a very poor value/quality proposition. At that time, poor-quality hair extensions were available, at prohibitively high prices. Sarah left her initial career and set out on a mission to improve the hair extensions industry in the UK, using her research and development skills.

Spending 3 years securing a high-quality and sustainable supply of human hair, Sarah then developed new products and fitting techniques to allow long-term refits of the same hair. In this way, Sarah was able to offer hair extensions services at a more affordable price to clients, while improving the quality of the service for her clients.

With Vixen & Blush starting in 2012 as a 1 chair salon in London, Sarah quickly grew the business to what it is today, a team of more than 20 hair professionals working together as London’s leading hair extensions specialists.
