So, what is involved in a video consultation?

We’ll start the video consultation with a casual chat about what you’re looking to achieve from hair extensions. Have you been dreaming of long, flowing locks or maybe you just want a volume boost? Whether you want a dramatic change or a subtle boost, this is the perfect time for you to share your hair goals. Natasha explains “When we first have an online consultation, I ask what are you hoping to achieve? Have you had hair extensions before? Do you have a preferred method in mind already? Those are the sort of starting points to get the ball going, we need as much information about your hair, and you’re wants to be able to safely guide you and help you with the rest of the process.”

A closer look at your natural hair

Our stylists will take a closer look at your natural hair. It helps if you currently don’t have extensions in so we can have a good look at your hair’s natural texture and thickness. This allows our stylists to recommend the best type of extensions for you. We might ask you to show your hair from different angles and in a natural light so we can see. We will also discuss the colour to make sure you’re 100% happy with your current colour and ensure we have a colour match. It’s important to keep an open mind during the video consultation, as our stylists will do their best to give you a recommendation. However, keep in mind that some details might be better evaluated in person.

Your expert recommendation

Based on all the factors you have discussed with you stylists; we’ll suggest the best extension method and amount for you. We can talk you through the different types of extensions we offer, from Tapes to Micro Rings, Micro Bond and Clip Ins, to find the one that will suit your lifestyle and hair best. We will also discuss the length you want to go and how many extensions you might need to achieve your desired look.

Sarah Mckenna

Sarah McKenna is the founder of Vixen & Blush and The London Hair Lab. Sarah graduated as a research biochemist in 2005 and started a career within the pharmaceutical industry, before becoming a hair extensions expert. In 2010, Sarah gained insight into the hair extensions industry and could see that clients had a very poor value/quality proposition. At that time, poor-quality hair extensions were available, at prohibitively high prices. Sarah left her initial career and set out on a mission to improve the hair extensions industry in the UK, using her research and development skills.

Spending 3 years securing a high-quality and sustainable supply of human hair, Sarah then developed new products and fitting techniques to allow long-term refits of the same hair. In this way, Sarah was able to offer hair extensions services at a more affordable price to clients, while improving the quality of the service for her clients.

With Vixen & Blush starting in 2012 as a 1 chair salon in London, Sarah quickly grew the business to what it is today, a team of more than 20 hair professionals working together as London’s leading hair extensions specialists.
